If you live in a beautiful city like Leiden you kind of get used to the beauty. Those special landmarks and buildings just blend into the streets and disappear just to hide in plain sight. Lately I’m rediscovering the beauty of my hometown. Triggered by a need to create beautiful images I started to photograph those ’touristic attractions’ and cliché shots. Using my personal style for dramatic skies and personal preferences for composition I set out to gather a collection of images. This time the chosen location was the Medieval City Gate the Morspoort. And on a little sidetrack the Galgewater, the canal and in city harbour ànd birthplace of Rembrandt. The historic value of the city is striking! And I keep amazing myself about how much photogenic places there are to be found. It’ll keep me busy for a long time or until I feel I’m done 😉 So here are some of te results of an early morning before work excursion with an dramatic sky and historic buildings.
